Eriol: NO! They're magic cards.

Eriol: Well each card has a, hmmmm, I guess you could call them a spirit. And each spirit has a power that is thier card. For example, The Mirror Card reflects any image that its master chooses and that is its power.
QT: Okay. So did you have any help creating these cards?
Eriol: Well no. Unless you count Yue and Kiro.
QT: Oh. Who are they?
Eriol: They are the protectors of the cards.
QT: Protectors? Why do you need those?
Eriol: Incase the cards escape.
QT: So these cards are alive?
Eriol: Yes.
QT: Oh I see. Now you said that they would "escape". Where would they excape from?
Eriol: From the clow book.
QT: Okay so why are they in the book?
Eriol: Because they got too powerfull to have out in the world.
QT: It seems like a lot of work for a person your age to do.
Eriol: Oh well I didn't do it all in this life time. I did it when I was older.
